World Environment Day Celebrated with Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive at Government College, Raipur Rani

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Government College, Raipur Rani organized a series of activities under the leadership and guidance of Principal Dr. Seema Singh to promote environmental conservation and cleanliness. Faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students enthusiastically participated in the programmes and pledged to spread awareness about protecting the environment among the public.
As part of the celebrations, a tree plantation drive was conducted on the college campus, during which various fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings, including litchi and chikoo, were planted. The participants also pledged to protect and nurture the planted trees, reaffirming their commitment to creating a greener and cleaner environment.
Following the plantation drive, a cleanliness campaign was carried out across the college campus and nearby areas. Students and staff members collectively removed plastic waste, paper, and other litter, sending a strong message about the importance of cleanliness and environmental responsibility. The campaign also aimed to educate students about the significance of maintaining a clean environment and fulfilling their civic duties.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Seema Singh delivered an inspiring awareness lecture on environmental conservation. She emphasized that protecting the environment is one of the greatest responsibilities of the present generation and urged every individual to play an active role in conserving nature. She encouraged students to plant more trees, conserve water, and make cleanliness an integral part of their daily lives.
The programme was successfully organized with the significant contribution of Dr. Pooja Bishnoi of the Department of Geography, along with Ram Sharan, Vikas, Aslam, Avtar, Bindu, Satpal, Ankit, and Sunil. All faculty members, staff, and students participated with dedication, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility, making the event a grand success.
In her concluding remarks, Principal Dr. Seema Singh expressed gratitude to all the participants and stressed that environmental conservation should not be limited to a single day but should become an integral part of everyone's daily life. She appealed to everyone to take responsibility for protecting planted trees, maintaining cleanliness, and spreading awareness about environmental conservation throughout society
