NE-DAY WORKSHOP-CUM-EXTENSION LECTURE ORGANISED AT Government College, Raipur Rani Raipur Rani, 28 February 2026: The Department of English, in collaboration with the Placement Cell of Government College, Raipur Rani, organised a One-Day Workshop-cum-Extension Lecture on 28 February 2026 in the college premises. The workshop aimed at enhancing students’ academic writing skills and equipping them with effective strategies for interview preparation. The programme commenced with a formal welcome of the Resource Person, Dr. Jashanjot Singh Johal, by Mrs. Inderjot, Mrs. Kavita and Mrs. Manisha Ranga, senior faculty members, along with Mrs. Pooja, Assistant Professor of Commerce and Convener of the workshop. The faculty members extended a warm welcome and expressed their gratitude for his presence. Dr. Swati Dhull, Assistant Professor of English and Co-Convener of the workshop, introduced the Resource Person to the students and presented a brief overview of the objectives and structure of the workshop. She highlighted the importance of academic writing skills and interview preparedness in today’s competitive environment. Dr. Jashanjot Singh Johal delivered a scholarly and insightful lecture on “Paragraph Writing and How to Get Prepared for Interview.” He elaborated on the structure of an effective paragraph, coherence, unity, and clarity in writing. In the second session, he guided students on essential interview skills, including confidence-building, body language, communication strategies and commonly asked questions. The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions. Handouts were distributed, and practical exercises were conducted to provide hands-on learning experience. Dr. Rohit Kumar provided the necessary technical support to ensure the smooth conduct of the workshop. Dr. Deepak Hooda and Dr. Joginder efficiently managed discipline and seating arrangements. Dr. Ritu Atwal, Dr. Mandeep and Dr. Capt. Shweta also graced the occasion with their presence. The workshop concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Yashveer, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Resource Person for his enriching lecture. He also thanked the students for their enthusiastic participation and acknowledged the support of the teaching and non-teaching staff for the successful organisation of the event. The workshop proved to be an enlightening and productive academic engagement for the students, strengthening both their writing competence and interview readiness.
