Govt. College Raipur Rani (Panchkula)
Session: 2024–25
Introduction
Situated amidst the serene surroundings of Raipur Rani, at
the foothills of the Shivalik ranges, Govt. College Raipur Rani has been a
beacon of learning for rural and semi-urban youth since its establishment. The
college caters to students not only from Panchkula district but also from the
adjoining regions of Himachal Pradesh and Ambala.
The lush green campus, equipped with academic blocks, sports
facilities, and cultural spaces, provides a conducive environment for education
and holistic development. Over the years, the institution has expanded its
infrastructure to meet the needs of growing student strength and emerging
academic demands. In the session 2024–25, the college continued its journey of
excellence with active participation in academics, sports, NSS, NCC, and
cultural activities.
Currently, the college offers undergraduate courses in Arts,
Commerce, and Science streams. With dedicated faculty and supportive staff, the
institution is committed to imparting quality education and values to its
students.
Student Strength
In the ongoing session (2024–25), the total student strength
stands at 309, comprising 190 girls and 119 boys. The increasing
enrollment reflects the trust and reputation the college holds in the region.
Staff
Out of 20 sanctioned teaching posts, 14 regular
faculty members are currently serving, supported by guest faculty and
extension lecturers. To manage practical labs and computer facilities, the
college has appointed technical staff on contractual basis.
The college also has 5 sanctioned non-teaching posts,
with a mix of regular and contractual employees ensuring the smooth functioning
of the institution.
The teaching faculty remains research-oriented and
committed, actively participating in workshops, conferences, and seminars to
upgrade their knowledge and skills.
Achievements of Staff
- Faculty
members participated in Faculty Development Programs,
Orientation/Refresher Courses, and research seminars.
- Several
faculty members presented research papers and published articles in
reputed journals.
Website
The college maintains a dynamic website, which is
updated regularly with notices, academic schedules, results, and activity
reports. It serves as a transparent communication channel for students,
parents, and faculty.
IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell)
The IQAC, under the convenorship of Dr. Puja Bishnoi has
been documenting academic and co-curricular activities as per UGC/NAAC
guidelines.
Highlights of 2024–25:
- Conducted
an orientation program for students on digital learning resources
and e-content.
- Regular
PTMs (Parent-Teacher Meetings) were organized to enhance
interaction with parents and seek feedback.
Scholarships and Stipends
- SC
students benefited under the Consolidated Stipend Scheme and Free
Books Scheme. Each eligible student received a monthly stipend along with
funds for books.
- OBC
and EWS students availed scholarships under centrally sponsored
Post-Matric schemes.
- Financial
assistance was also provided through the Student Aid Fund to needy
students by refunding tuition fees.
Cultural Activities
The Talent Search Contest and Annual Cultural Fest
were organized to encourage students’ creativity. Events included literary
competitions, theatre, music, and dance.
Highlights:
- Students
participated in the Zonal Youth Festival (KUK) and secured
positions in debate, folk dance, and music competitions.
- A
special cultural evening, was organized featuring classical and folk
performances.
- Many artists
collaborated with the college to host a performance by renowned artists,
enriching the students’ exposure to Indian heritage.
Sports
- The
college organized its Annual Athletic Meet in February 2025, with
enthusiastic participation of more than 50 students.
- Students
represented the college in cricket, volleyball, and athletics various levels.
Highlights:
- NSS
cadets rendered voluntary services during Independence Day, Republic Day,
and various awareness campaigns.
NSS
The college NSS units, guided by Program Officers Dr. Supriya
Poonia and Dr. Pooja, actively carried forward the motto “Not Me, But
You”.
Key activities (2024–25):
- Organized
a 7-day Day Night Special Camp in a nearby village, focusing on
cleanliness, literacy awareness, and environmental protection.
- Conducted
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Tiranga Yatra, Voter Awareness Drive, and Blood
Donation Camps.
- Volunteers
participated in tree plantation drives, rallies against drug abuse, and
road safety awareness campaigns.
Library
The college library is equipped with a rich collection of more
than 200 books, journals, and digital resources.
- Library
automation is progressing with SOUL software.
- Subscriptions
include N-List (INFLIBNET), e-journals, and magazines.
- Membership
of National Digital Library of India renewed for students and
faculty.
- Average
daily student footfall remains high, reflecting active use of resources.
College Magazine
The annual college magazine, serves as a platform for
literary and creative expression. Since 2025, it is published in e-magazine
format and is accessible via the college website.
The magazine contains articles, poems, stories, and reports
contributed by students and staff.
Women’s Studies and Development Cell
- Conducted
extension lectures on Women’s Rights, Health Awareness, and Gender
Equality.
- A
medical check-up camp was also arranged for female students.
Placement Cell
The Placement Cell actively prepared students for job
opportunities through career counseling sessions, resume-building workshops,
and skill development programs.
Highlights:
- Signed
MoU with local Pharma company for skill development in areas like
digital marketing, computer applications, and entrepreneurship.
- Organized
seminars on career opportunities in private and government sectors.
- Several
students successfully cleared competitive exams and secured placements.
Entrepreneurship Development Club
The ED Club encouraged students to explore innovative
business ideas.
- Conducted
industrial visits and workshops on Startups and Entrepreneurship Skills.
Alumni Committee
The Alumni Association of the college is gradually
expanding. Alumni regularly interact with students, guiding them on careers and
higher studies.
- Organized
Alumni Meet 2023, which was attended by distinguished alumni from
diverse fields.

Conclusion
The session 2024–25 has been fruitful, with remarkable
achievements in academics, cultural, and sports arenas. Govt. College Raipur
Rani continues to strive toward its mission of providing quality education,
promoting values, and nurturing the talent of rural youth. With collective
efforts of staff, students, alumni, and the community, the institution is
confident of achieving greater milestones in the years ahead.
