National
Service Scheme (NSS)
The
National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship student-volunteer program of
the Government of India, run under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
Kurukshetra University (KUK), Haryana, has implemented NSS in its constituent
and affiliated colleges as a means to engage young students in community
service, social development, and nation-building.
Objectives
The
NSS at KUK aims to:
- Foster among students a sense of
social responsibility, civic awareness, and community service.
- Encourage volunteers to identify
local community issues (such as health, education, environment,
sanitation) and participate actively in problem-solving.
- Develop leadership qualities,
discipline, teamwork, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
- Promote national integration,
cohesion, and a spirit of volunteerism.

Awareness Programme on AIDS Organized by NSS and Red Cross Club, Government
College, Raipur Rani on 08/09/2025

The
National Service Scheme (NSS) and Red Cross Club of Government College, Raipur
Rani jointly organized an Awareness Programme on AIDS on 08/09/2025 in the
college campus. The event aimed to spread awareness among students about
HIV/AIDS, its causes, prevention, and the importance of compassionate attitudes
towards people living with the disease. The students actively participated in
the session by asking questions and engaging in discussions. Overall, the
awareness drive proved to be highly informative and inspiring, instilling a
sense of social responsibility among students to contribute towards a healthier
and more informed society.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2025 organised by NSS committee on 14/08/2025

The
NSS Unit of Government College Raipur Rani organized a “Har Ghar Tiranga”
campaign to commemorate the patriotic spirit leading up to Independence Day.
The aim was to promote national pride, raise awareness about the significance
of the Indian Tricolor (Tiranga), and encourage every household to hoist the
flag with respect and dignity.

Yoga Day Celebrations by NSS and Yoga Cell of Government College, Raipur Rani
on 12/06/2025
On
12th June 2025, the NSS Unit and Yoga Cell of Government College, Raipur Rani,
jointly organized International Yoga Day celebrations in the college campus.
The program commenced with a brief address highlighting the importance of yoga
for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Under the guidance of NSS
volunteers, and faculty members actively participated in various yoga asanas
and pranayama practices. The celebration successfully conveyed the message of
harmony, discipline, and holistic wellness among the participants.

The application for NCC Unit in our college is put to 2 Har Bn NCC Ambala. It is under-process. Dr Yashveer is taking follow ups regularly. Most likely, the College will get half unit first.
